Description

Inscribed “Captain R. Tallagsen” and dated 1878, this pierhead painting is by Anders Lind (flourished 1855-95) a Norwegian ship painter who worked in Drontheim until 1860 and then in London; he sketched ships as they were towed up the Thames and offered the finished painting to the captain before the ship was discharged.
