The white marble top of this table is raised on a cast iron fluted column with rope twist legs terminating in lion paw feet. In the early 19th Century patriotic naval emblems such as rope, the British lion and triumphal Roman columns were much in fashion following the battles of the Nile and Trafalgar. English, circa 1830.
