Folk Art still life of fruit in a glass tazza. Producing these stylised paintings, sometimes also called stencil or theorem paintings, was popular with young ladies as a pastime in the early 19th century. This one is inscribed on the reverse ‘painted by Francis Sikes about 1890’. Oil on card. English or American, circa 1890.
