A piggin is a small wooden pail or tub with a handle formed by continuing one of the staves above the rim. It was used on farms for scattering grain for the chickens, slopping the hogs, as a one-handed milk bucket, or as a grain scoop. This one has a wonderful blue original exterior colour and is bound by split willow. The interior has the original cream coloured paint. It is punch inscribed on the bottom ‘AIJ’.
