A rare ash ladder back carver chair attributed to the Kerry family of chair makers from Evesham, Worcestershire (flourished 1820-61). This chair has rare features such as the arm supports going through to the under rail. It is interesting in that it illustrates stylistic features of chairs later designed by Ernest Gimson, a leading member of the Arts and Crafts movement. English, circa 1830.
