A rare painted child’s flat-armed Nottinghamshire Windsor or Capstan high chair with a well-used footrest. In cream paint, the back is decorated with a floral design, with darts on the legs and bobbins picked out in olive green. It is beautifully worn and has obviously served many children over the years. It is made of beech which was the timber usually used as the base for painted furniture. English, circa 1880.
