A mid 18th century fruitwood Chippendale country armchair. It has exaggerated shaped broad arm supports, a pierced vase shaped splat and scrolled cow horn cresting rail. It is on square chamfer legs with an ‘H’ stretcher. It has a wonderful colour and burnished surface and is very comfortable to sit on. English, circa 1760.
