An oak North Welsh (Snowdonia) Didarn dated 1716. The top is chequer inlaid with bog oak and box wood, with two drop finials to the upper section which has a central door with the ownership initials K over EK. Behind this door is the very rare feature of spice drawers, also containing a pull-out secret compartment. The drawer fronts have chip carved rondels which also appear on the lower lozenge carved drawers. The whole is made from quarter cut oak and has the most wonderful colour and patina.
