These long tables were usually used as drinking tables where people sat on long benches on each side and would enjoy much beer and laughter. This one has wonderful double urn silhouette trestle ends raised on sledge feet held together by a centre stretcher which is wedged onto each trestle. The base still has its original paint which is a scumble glazed burnt sienna. The top is planked pine probably originally scrubbed, now with a patina. It seats fourteen. Painted pine, Bavarian circa 1860.
