A rare 17th century horn drinking vessel with scalloped silver rim, which is, not unusually, without hallmarks as when only a small amount of silver was used it was not worth sending to the Assay office. It has traces of the original applied varnish. English, 17th century.
Ref:’Treen for the Table’ by Jonathan Levi pl.3/7 for similar scalloped silver rim.
